Introducing Marfa
Marfa is a shared data layer for your apps. You decide what kinds of things you keep and how they connect, and every app, script or AI agent you allow works from the same data.
Most apps keep their own copy of your data, in their own shape. With Marfa, apps become views onto data you own. Switch apps, use several at once or build your own, and nothing has to move.
Want to hear when the apps open? .
Can I try it yet?
Developers can run Marfa today from the code on GitHub. The Mac and iOS apps open to early testers in November, then to everyone on TestFlight later that month.
How is it different from iCloud?
iCloud keeps each app’s data in that app’s own space. Marfa keeps one set of data that any app you allow can read and write, in a structure you define, on a Marfa you run.
What does it cost?
Marfa is free and open source. Run it on your own Mac, or on Railway, which bills you for hosting.
